Social Media Filter

Learn how to find companies that have a presence on one or more social media channels.

The Social Media Filter helps you find companies that have a verified presence on specific social media platforms. This filter works on the company level and is based on the social media links found on the company’s official website.

What It Does

This filter identifies companies that have at least one of the following social media platforms listed on their website:

  • LinkedIn

  • Facebook

  • X (formerly Twitter)

  • Instagram

  • YouTube

  • XING

  • TikTok

You can use this filter to search for companies that meet one of several conditions:

  • Any of: Find companies that have at least one of the selected platforms.

  • All of: Find companies that have all of the selected platforms.

  • Number of platforms: Specify a minimum or maximum number of social channels a company should have.

How It Works

Ocean.io detects social media links directly from a company’s website. When you apply this filter, it checks which of the supported social media platforms are present there and includes companies that match your chosen criteria.

For example:

  • Selecting “LinkedIn and YouTube” with the All of option will return companies that have both a LinkedIn and a YouTube link on their website.

  • Selecting Any of LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram will include companies that have at least one of those profiles.

  • Setting “minimum 3” under number of platforms will find companies that are active on three or more of the supported social networks - it does not take your selection of particular channels into account.

Why Use It

The Social Media Filter is useful for several scenarios:

  • Finding companies with an active social presence for marketing or partnership purposes.

  • Targeting brands that engage with customers on specific platforms such as TikTok or Instagram.

  • Improving the accuracy of LinkedIn-based searches by ensuring that the companies you target have a verified LinkedIn URL in Ocean.io. This increases the likelihood of finding the right contacts and company profiles on LinkedIn.
