The Size (employees) filter helps you target organizations that fit your ideal company size, whether you’re looking for small startups or large enterprises.
You can filter by three categories: Size range, Accessible people on LinkedIn, and Accessible people on Ocean.
Size Range
The Size range option lets you filter companies based on their estimated total number of employees.
You can select one or multiple predefined size brackets:
1–10 employees
11–50 employees
51–200 employees
201–500 employees
501–1,000 employees
1,001–5,000 employees
5,001–10,000 employees
10,001–50,000 employees
50,001–100,000 employees
100,001+ employees
This information is gathered from multiple trusted sources, including LinkedIn and other verified business data providers.
It gives you a reliable overview of each company’s approximate size, even if the exact employee count may vary slightly between sources.
Accessible People on LinkedIn
This category shows how many individuals publicly list the company as their employer on LinkedIn.
You can set a From and To range to define the number of LinkedIn profiles you want to include in your search.
For example:
To find mid-sized companies with a strong LinkedIn presence, you might set the range from 100 to 1,000.
To focus on small teams, you could filter for companies with 1 to 50 people on LinkedIn.
Because this data comes directly from LinkedIn profiles, it reflects how many people say they work at that company rather than an exact headcount.
Accessible People on Ocean
This filter shows how many people Ocean.io currently has available and associated with a particular company.
You can also set a From and To range here to find companies that have a specific number of accessible contacts within Ocean.io.
For example:
Set From = 3 to find companies where at least 3 people are accessible and available for outreach.
Set From = 10 if you want companies with broader contact coverage.
Set To = 50 if you want to focus on smaller organizations.
Because Ocean.io relies on publicly available data, we may not have every employee listed for every company. However, this metric provides a clear view of how many people you can immediately access within the platform.
Example Use Cases
Find startups and small businesses for SMB-focused outreach
Target enterprise companies with larger employee counts for high-value sales opportunities
Identify companies with strong LinkedIn visibility for easier prospecting
Prioritize organizations where Ocean.io already provides accessible contacts
Build segmented prospect lists for SMB, mid-market, and enterprise campaigns
This filter helps you align your targeting strategy with the right company scale for your product or service, improving both outreach efficiency and data accuracy.
