How To Delete Your Account And Data

Learn how you can delete your account and/or contact data from Ocean.

How can I delete my Ocean user and data?

We are happy to help you manage or delete your information at Ocean. Below is an overview of how to:

  • Deactivate your user account within your organization

  • Delete your user from Ocean’s user database

  • Delete your personal data from the Ocean contact database

Deactivating your Ocean user (within your organization)

Ocean users cannot delete or deactivate their own account from within the app.

If you want your user to be deactivated, please contact a colleague who is an Admin member of your organization’s Ocean account. Admin users can deactivate team members on behalf of the organization by selecting Settings-->User management-->Select Deactivate User from the three-dot menu next to the user’s name on the far right.

Deleting your Ocean user (login and account)

If you want your user account (your login) to be completely deleted from our user database:

  1. Send an email to [email protected]

  2. Use the same email address that you use to log in to Ocean

  3. Clearly state that you want your Ocean user account to be deleted

Example:
“I would like to delete my Ocean user account associated with this email address.”

We can only process deletion requests that come from the email address in question.

Note that running subscriptions will not be eligible for refunds for unused time when a user account is deleted upon request.

For account admins:
Account admins can also request the deletion of non-admin users under their account. In such cases, the admin will need to contact support directly to process the request.

When deleting a user account, please be aware that all associated data will be permanently deleted. This includes:

  • Saved searches

  • Enriched leads or contacts

  • Any other account-specific data

Make sure to back up any important information before proceeding.

Deleting your personal data from the Ocean contact database

If you would like your personal contact profile removed from the Ocean database (for example, if your LinkedIn profile appears in our system), we’re happy to help.

To process this request:

  • Send it from your own email address

  • Include the LinkedIn URL of your profile

We use your LinkedIn profile URL to ensure we remove the correct record, since our database is built primarily from LinkedIn-based professional profiles and may include people with similar names.

Once processed, your profile will be permanently removed from our contact database and will no longer appear in search results or enrichments.

Note that each request has to come from the individual's own email address; you cannot request profile deletion on behalf of others.

Why requests must be sent by email and not live chat

For privacy and documentation reasons, we cannot fulfill deletion or deactivation requests over live chat.

All requests for deleting users or personal data must be sent to [email protected] so we can verify your identity and keep a documented record of your request.
