Keeping your CRM data up to date helps you save time, improve lead scoring, and run better automated workflows.
You can move data from Ocean.io into your CRM in two simple ways:
Download a CSV file (manual)
Use the API (automatic)
1. Download a CSV (manual method)
Start by identifying the companies or contacts you want to export. You can do this using:
Company Lookup or Person Lookup filters
Uploading a CSV file into the lookup filters
Searching directly by:
Company name
Person name
Company website URL
LinkedIn URL (for people searches only)
đ Tip: Using company website URLs gives the best match results. You can also use the CRM Status filter, but this only works if youâve integrated Ocean.io with:
HubSpot
Salesforce
Pipedrive
If youâre using a different CRM, the lookup filters are your best option.
Export Your Data
Once you have your results:
Select the companies or contacts you want to export
Click Export to CSV
Download the file
Youâll receive a CSV file containing all available Ocean.io data for the selected records.
You can also export all results directly from the Results tab.
This will give you a CSV file with all available data points in Ocean. Upload it into your CRM of choice to start enjoying the benefits.
Important Notes
Data overwriting:
Most CRMs allow CSV uploads to overwrite existing fields.
If you donât want certain data imported, remove those columns from your CSV
Alternatively, skip mapping those fields during the import process
Custom exports:
You can choose exactly which fields to include in your CSV export by selecting the âCustomizedâ option from the Columns to export dropdown in the export pop-up. This allows you to control which data points are included in your file.
From there hit the Next button and select the filters you wish to have in your CSV file:
Your selected columns will be saved, so the next time you export a customized CSV file, your previous column selection will already be applied.
Mandatory columns in custom exports
When using customized exports, certain columns are always included by default and cannot be deselected.
For company exports:
Company name and Company domain are mandatory fields and will always be included in every export.
For contact exports:
In addition to Company name and Company domain, the Person name field is also mandatory and will always be included in every export.
These fields are required to ensure exported data remains usable and properly structured across downstream workflows and integrations.
No extra credits for re-exports:
Once youâve exported a record, you can export it again later:
Even with additional columns
Or using a different export setup
Without using extra credits
đĄ Tip: When you export directly to your CRM from Ocean (HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce), any records that already exist will be ignored to avoid creating duplicates. In other words, Ocean does not enrich CRM fields when records already exist. To enrich your CRM fields, manual CSV uploads are the way to go.
2. Create an API integration
If you wish to automatically enrich new leads, you can set up an API integration with Ocean. You will need a developer to set this up.
The Enrich Company API allows you to send a domain to Ocean.io, and get all information available on the particular company sent back to you in JSON format. You can then use this information to enrich any data you already have.
