Company search

Find companies matching a search query.

Company search · Sourcing · Produces companies

Finds companies matching a search and feeds them into the workflow.

When to use it

Use it to source a fresh list of companies each run — lookalikes of a customer, companies in a market, or a specific set of domains.

What it does

Runs a company search with the filters you set and enrolls the results as company records. It mirrors the filters on Ocean's company search page.

Configure it

  • Filters — build your search. Common ones:

- Lookalike companies — find companies similar to one or more domains. - Company domain — target specific companies by domain. - Department headcount growth — find companies growing a specific team, a useful buying signal.

  • Limit — the maximum number of companies to bring in per run.

  • Net new — leave on to skip companies already in a lead list, an export, your CRM, or that this workflow already enrolled on an earlier run; turn off to include all of those.

Cost

0.2 credits per result. See Credits in workflows.

Gotchas

  • Broad filters plus a high limit can pull far more companies than you expect — and cost more. Start with a small limit while testing.

  • Seed lookalikes with 3–5 of your best-fit customers for the strongest matches.

  • With Net new on, a company already in your CRM, an export, or a lead list is excluded — a run can enroll nothing even though the search matched real companies. That's Net new working as intended, not a broken search. Turn it off to confirm, or check Troubleshooting workflows.
