Finds people who resemble a seed — a person, a company domain, or both — and feeds them into the workflow. It's a guided version of People search built around lookalike sourcing, so the seed is required up front.
When to use it
Use it to find more contacts like someone you already know is a good fit — "find people like this champion", or "find people like the team at acme.com". Seeding with both a person and a domain gives a stronger, more focused search.
What it does
For each run, it searches for people similar to your seed and enrolls the results as people records, each with a match score. You can narrow the results with the same person and company filters as People search.
Configure it
Lookalike person — a seed person to find matches for.
Company domain — a seed company to find matches for. Click Add a company domain under Lookalike person to show this field. Use either seed on its own, or both together for a stronger search — at least one is required.
Filters — optional person and company filters (seniority, department, sub-department, job title, industry, and so on) to tighten the results. Sub-department narrows a level further than department — for example, splitting Engineering into software development or technical support — and is grouped under its parent department in the picker.
People per run — the maximum number of people to bring in per run.
People per company — cap how many people to return from any one company (0 to 5, default 5). Set it to 0 to take as many people per company as the search returns.
Skip people: tick the kinds of people to leave out of the results. All six boxes are ticked by default.
Already in CRM: people who work at a company that is already an account in your connected CRM.
Already in leads: people already in one of your lead lists, and people at companies already in a lead list.
Already exported: people you already exported from Ocean, and people at companies you already exported.
Under From earlier runs of this workflow: Completed, Dropped, and Failed skip people this workflow enrolled on an earlier run that ended that way. Untick Failed to retry failed people on the next run. These three boxes only show on a step that starts the workflow.
People still in progress in this workflow are always skipped.
If the workflow starts with a Webhook trigger, new steps start with Already in CRM and Completed unticked.
Cost
0.2 credits per result. See Credits in workflows.
Gotchas
At least one seed (person or domain) is required — the step is marked incomplete until you set one.
