The Office Location filter helps you find companies that have any office presence in a specific area, regardless of whether it is their headquarter or another branch.
This filter is ideal when you want to include all company locations in your search, not just the main one.
How It Works
Every company in Ocean.io can have one or more office locations. The Office Location filter includes all of them, so you can find companies that have a footprint in your selected region, even if their headquarters are elsewhere.
For example:
If a company is headquartered in London but also has offices in Paris and Berlin, filtering for France or Germany will include that company in your results.
This makes the filter especially useful when you want to target companies active in your sales territory, regardless of where their main office is located.
Search by Location Type
You can search for companies by several types of location:
Countries – for example: Germany, France, or the United States
Country groupings – predefined regional clusters such as DACH or Benelux
Regions – larger areas within a country, such as California or Île-de-France
Municipalities – smaller administrative areas within a region
Cities – specific urban locations, such as Amsterdam or Copenhagen
Country Groupings
Ocean.io includes several ready-made regional groupings you can use for faster filtering:
DACH – Germany, Austria, Switzerland
UKI – United Kingdom and Ireland
Nordics – Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden
Benelux – Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg
Europe – All European countries
North America – United States and Canada
APAC – Asia-Pacific region, including countries such as Australia, Japan, and Singapore
These groupings make it easy to target broad areas without selecting each country individually.
Filter by Map Area
In addition to using predefined options, you can filter directly on a map.
When you select the Map area option, a map will open that allows you to:
Zoom in to your area of interest
Pick a central point
Adjust the zoom level or set a radius around your chosen area
This is useful when you want to find companies within a specific distance from a city, office, or regional hub. For example, you can search for companies “within 50 km of Berlin.”
When to Use This Filter
Use the Office Location filter to:
Find companies that operate in your territory, even if their headquarters are located elsewhere
Build regional prospect lists that include both main offices and satellite branches
Identify companies with a physical presence near your target markets
Combine with other filters, such as Industry or Company Size, for refined targeting
