Email Status Filter

Use this filter to show contacts with email addresses verified by your account.

The Email Status filter allows you to narrow your contact search based on the verification status of their business email address.

This helps you quickly identify which contacts have verified, catch-all, guessed, or unverified emails so you can prioritize reliable outreach and minimize bounce risk.

How It Works

The filter is based on your organization’s collective email verification activity within Ocean.io.


That means the results reflect all email verification actions taken by anyone on your team, not just your own.

For example, if you set the filter to show only Verified emails, Ocean.io will display all contacts whose email addresses have been verified by any member of your organization.

Behind the scenes, Ocean.io combines multiple trusted data sources to find each contact’s most likely business email address.


Each result is then passed through ZeroBounce for validation, confirming deliverability and accuracy before appearing in your results.

Email Statuses

After using the Email Finder, every contact will display one of the following statuses:

  • Access email
    You haven’t started the email search for this contact yet

  • Verified email found
    A verified, deliverable email has been found and confirmed through ZeroBounce. These are safe to use for outreach and have minimal bounce risk.

  • Catch-all email found
    The domain accepts all incoming emails, making these addresses generally deliverable but not individually verified.

  • Guessed email found
    An estimated email address has been generated based on common patterns or public data. Accuracy may vary, so proceed with caution.

  • No email address found
    In rare cases, no verified, catch-all, or guessed address could be found for a contact.

When to Use This Filter

Use the Email Status filter to:

  • Focus campaigns on contacts with verified and reliable email addresses

  • Exclude contacts with unverified or unconfirmed email data

  • Clean and segment your contact lists before exporting or launching outreach

  • Avoid re-verifying emails already checked by teammates

Filtering for Verified Emails

To filter for verified emails:

  1. Go to your People search

  2. Open the Filters panel on the left-hand side

  3. Select the Email status filter

  4. Enable only Verified emails

⚠️ Note: This filter only applies to emails uncovered and verified within your own Ocean.io account.

Using it helps you prepare clean, high-quality data before exporting or starting email campaigns, ensuring your outreach is accurate and efficient.
