Legacy Plans & Custom Plans

Learn more about the difference between our legacy plans and our new plans.

Did you start a subscription before February 2026? Or do you have a custom agreement with one of our sales reps? Then your credits and certain parts of the platform might work slightly differently. Read more about your credit use below. Additionally, credits on legacy plans cannot be transferred to API usage, and migration to newer plans is required to enable this functionality.

How To Know if You're On A Legacy Plan?

The easiest way is to go to the Company search, apply any filter, and scroll down. Did you automatically load the next 50 results? Then you're on a legacy plan.

What's Changed On The Legacy Platform (app.ocean.io)

Interface

In the new interface, you have to choose how many rows you wish to add. In the legacy interface, you automatically load the next 50 rows when you scroll down.

Credits

The credits work differently on app.ocean.io:

  • Loading results

    • Legacy plan: Free, but with a fair-use limit to avoid abuse.

    • New plan: 0.2 credits per result, but exporting them is free.

  • Exporting results

    • Legacy plan: 1 credit for each company/person you didn't export before.

    • New plan: Free, as long as the result has been loaded.

  • Revealing emails

    • Legacy plan: 3 credits to reveal a verified email. Catch-all and guessed emails are free.

    • New plan: 1 credit to reveal a verified or catch-all email. Guessed emails are free.

  • Revealing phones

    • Both plans: 10 credits to reveal a phone number

  • Access to APIs/MCP

    • Legacy plan: Paid add-on for legacy plans with a separate credit pool.

    • New plan: Access to our APIs and MCP included. Credits are taken from the same pool.

What's Changed On The Legacy API

Credits

The credits work differently for our APIs. Legacy plans have 3 different email pools: Regular API credits, Email API credits, Phone API credits. New plans are using credits from one and the same pool across both APIs and the paltform. Legacy plans do not allow transferring credits between different credit pools or to API usage.

  • Revealing emails

    • Legacy plan: 1 email API credit per verified email. Catch-all and guessed emails are free.

    • New plan: 1 credit per verified email or verified catch-all email. Guessed emails are free.

  • Revealing phones

    • Legacy plan: 1 phone API credit per direct phone number found.

    • New plan: 1 credit per direct phone number found.

  • Autocomplete API endpoint

    • Legacy plan: 1 credit per 5 returned results

    • New plan: 0.2 credits per returned result

  • Enrich Company API endpoint

    • Legacy plan: 1 API credit per returned result if "domain" is set. If "domain" is empty, then 5 API credits per returned result.

    • New plan: 0.2 credits per returned result

  • Enrich Person API endpoint

    • Legacy plan: 1 API credit per returned result if "id" or "linkedIn" is set. If "id" and "linkedin" are empty, then 5 API credits per returned result.

    • New plan: 0.2 credits per returned result

  • Lookalike Company Search API endpoint

    • Legacy plan: 1 API credit per returned result if no Lookalike filter is set. If a Lookalike filter is set, 3 API credits per returned result.

  • Lookalike People Search API endpoint

    • Legacy plan: 1 API credit per returned result if no Lookalike filter is set. If a Lookalike filter is set, 3 API credits per returned result.

How can I move to our new plan?

You can upgrade to our new pricing and plan directly from your account:

  1. Click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner

  2. In the pop-up menu, either:

    • Select Upgrade subscription (top option), or

    • Go to Billing and choose Upgrade package

When you click this, you’ll see a migration pop-up that lets you confirm the switch to the new plan structure. This migration moves your current subscription setup to our new pricing model, where credits can be used across the platform, API, and MCP.

Nothing will be lost during this process, all existing credits will be fully migrated over.

Once migrated, you can also freely change or upgrade your subscription at any time from the Billing section if you want to adjust your usage or credit volume.

FAQs on Credit Usage

Q: Can I transfer my team credits to API credits on an older plan?

A: No, transferring team credits to API credits is not possible on older plans.

If API usage is important for your workflow, you’ll need to switch to our new plans, where credits are unified and can be used across the platform, API, and MCP.

When you migrate to a new plan, your existing credits will be carried over automatically, and you can then use them flexibly across all surfaces, including the API.

Q: Can I switch back to the old pricing model afterwards?

A: No. Once you migrate to the new pricing model, the process is not reversible, and you will not be able to switch back to the old plan structure.

Q: What happens if I cancel? Can I resubscribe on the old plans afterwards?

A: If you cancel your subscription, your account will not remain on the old pricing model.

If you later choose to resubscribe, your account will be automatically moved to our new pricing and plan structure, as the old plans are no longer available for reactivation.

This means that upon resubscription, you will continue on the new plans, where credits are unified and can be used across the platform, API, and MCP.
