An imprint (or Impressum in German) is legally required information published on a company’s website. It provides official details about the website’s owner or operator and is especially important for businesses operating in Germany, where failure to include an imprint can lead to legal consequences.
The Imprint page is typically linked in the footer of a company’s website. It must remain accurate and up to date, as it allows both users and authorities to contact the website owner for legal or administrative inquiries.
What Imprint Data Includes
Ocean.io automatically pulls imprint data directly from a company’s website whenever it’s available. This data may include:
Name of the managing director
Company address
Company email address
Company phone number
Fax number
Legal name
Registration number
Link to the imprint source
You can view this information on a company’s profile page or in the Quickview panel on the right-hand side when selecting a company in your search results.
Filtering for Companies with Imprint Data
If you want to view only companies that have imprint information available, use the Imprint data filter in your search.
Simply open the filter panel, locate the Imprint option, and enable it. Your search results will then show only companies from which Ocean.io has successfully retrieved imprint information.
