Why it matters: Spend less time researching contacts and more time engaging the people who influence purchasing decisions.
Available with the Segmentation add-on. Contact recommendations also require people data access.
2. More Flexible Workflows
We've introduced several improvements that give you more control over your automations.
What's new:
Rerun records: Retry failed records directly from Workflow Activity.
Smarter lead assignment: Automatically assign CRM owners using rules or round-robin distribution.
Better targeting: Decide which previously processed or existing records your Workflow should exclude.
Hiring intelligence: Use company job postings to identify opportunities and personalize outreach.
Why it matters: Automate more of your sales process while keeping control over which records are processed and who receives them.
The Job Postings Workflow step and job-posting filters in Workflow company searches are available with the Advanced job filters add-on.
3. Smarter Discovery and Lead Scoring
Discovery now makes it easier to recognize and prioritize your strongest opportunities.
You can now:
Identify your best-fit companies more accurately with improved Tier 1 scoring.
Create scoring models directly from the Models tab.
Export recommendations with Ocean scores, segment scores, and matched signals.
Manage segmentations, models, and buying committees through an improved Context Studio overview.
Why it matters: Understand not just which companies to target, but why they're a good fit.
4. Better CRM Enrichment
We've improved how Ocean.io updates records in Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, and Attio.
When exporting information to existing CRM records, Ocean.io now fills empty fields without overwriting information your team has already entered.
Existing record owners are also preserved unless you explicitly choose to reassign them.
Why it matters: Keep your CRM enriched without losing valuable information or changes made by your sales team.
5. Easier AI Connections with Ocean.io MCP
Connecting Ocean.io to AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT is now easier with OAuth authentication.
We've also introduced:
Free result counts: Check how many companies or people match your search.
Credit spending limits: Control the maximum number of credits used in individual MCP searches.
Expanded capabilities: Research accounts, access buying signals, and manage Workflows using supported AI clients.
Why it matters: Work with Ocean.io data directly from your AI assistant while maintaining greater control over credit usage.
Existing API-key connections are still supported.
6. Stronger Account Security
You can now secure your Ocean.io account using an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or 1Password.
This provides an additional layer of protection when signing in, with recovery codes available during setup.
