Delay

Pause for a set time before the next step.

Delay · Flow

Pauses each record for a set time, then continues to the next step.

When to use it

Use it to build delays into a workflow — wait 90 days after a deal closes before re-engaging, or hold a record a few days between touches.

What it does

When a record reaches this step, it parks until the wait is up, then moves on. Records waiting show at the Delay step in Activity, like "Delay (3/5)". Open the step from a run to see "Waiting", or "Waited" once they continue.

Configure it

The wait is set inline on its card — enter a number and choose a unit (seconds, minutes, hours, days, or weeks).

Cost

No credit cost. See Credits in workflows.

Gotchas

  • The duration must be greater than zero, or the step is marked incomplete and blocks publishing.

  • Records genuinely pause here, so a workflow with a long wait keeps records in progress for that whole time — you'll see them sitting at the Delay step in Activity.
