Bi-directional CRM Integration

Understand the difference between the standard (unidirectional) and advanced (bi-directional) CRM integration in Ocean

Ocean.io offers two types of CRM integration: Standard (unidirectional) and Advanced (bi-directional). The advanced option provides a two-way sync between Ocean.io and your CRM, enhancing prospecting by letting Ocean.io read your CRM data in addition to exporting leads.

Standard (Unidirectional) CRM Integration

What it does:

  • Allows exporting leads from Ocean.io to your CRM.

  • Supported CRMs include Pipedrive, HubSpot, and Salesforce.

Limitations:

  • Does not sync CRM data with Ocean.io.

  • CRM data will not be visible in search filters or dashboards in Ocean.io.

Best for:
Users who only want to push newly identified prospects into their CRM without syncing existing records.

Advanced (Bi-Directional) CRM Integration

What it does:

  • Enables two-way sync between Ocean.io and your CRM.

  • CRM data (account status, owner, last activity, etc.) appears directly in Ocean.io during prospecting.

  • Lets you filter prospects based on CRM fields and detect new opportunities that aren’t yet in your CRM.

  • Provides one-click export with automatic assignment of owners.

  • Includes extra duplicate prevention logic beyond your CRM’s built-in tools.

Supported CRMs: Pipedrive, HubSpot, Salesforce.

Availability & Subscription Notes:

  • For users who purchased a Professional plan or higher before February 2026: The bi-directional CRM integration is included as part of the plan.

  • For users who purchased a subscription after February 2026: This feature will be offered as a separate add-on once released. It is not yet generally available, and you will need to reach out to Ocean.io Support to enable or pre-order it.

Data in Search

View your CRM data while searching for prospects in Ocean.io. You’ll see details such as the CRM status of the account, who owns the account in your CRM, and the last activity date or interaction.

With one click, you can open the corresponding account directly in your CRM, saving time and improving context while prospecting.

Filtering Inside your CRM

With the bi-directional CRM integration, you can apply advanced filters based on your CRM data directly inside Ocean.io.

Filter by status, account owner, or last activity date to uncover hidden opportunities in your CRM. For instance, older or lost accounts that haven’t been contacted in a while.

Revisiting these accounts can often be more effective than starting from scratch, helping you re-engage prospects that already know your brand.

Finding Net New Opportunities

You can also use Ocean.io to identify new accounts that don’t yet exist in your CRM. By applying the Net new filter, Ocean.io automatically excludes companies already in your CRM, letting you focus entirely on fresh prospects.

This is a powerful way to expand your pipeline while keeping your CRM clean and free from duplicates.

Exporting

Once you’ve identified relevant companies or contacts, you can export them directly from Ocean.io into your CRM.

Assign new accounts to yourself or another team member during export, keeping ownership and workflows organized from the start.

Duplication Prevention

Ocean.io proactively prevents duplicate records when exporting to your CRM.

While most CRMs have built-in deduplication, Ocean.io’s advanced matching algorithm adds an extra layer of protection by comparing multiple fields, including company name, domain, telephone numbers, email domains, addresses, and LinkedIn URLs.

This ensures your CRM remains clean and consistent.

Standard CRM Integration (Unidirectional)

Overview

The Standard CRM Integration allows all Ocean.io users to connect their HubSpot or Pipedrive CRM.

It’s ideal if you want to export data to your CRM but don’t need full two-way synchronization.

Main feature:
Direct export from Ocean.io to your CRM

How It Works

Connect your CRM via the Integrations page in your Ocean.io Settings.

During setup, you’ll map your CRM fields to Ocean.io so the platform knows exactly where to place your exported data.

The standard integration imports the bare minimum of your CRM configuration (such as users, custom fields, and pipeline stages) to allow you to export your Ocean.io leads to your CRM.

However, it does not import CRM data like companies, contacts, deals, or activities. That means these records won’t appear or be labeled inside Ocean.io.
