Why do you need access to my CRM?

Ocean.io is a smart database of companies and contacts to find prospects in. Technically, you don’t need to connect a CRM to get great value out of us. The real magic happens when you connect us with your CRM and start reaping all other benefits Ocean.io has to offer.

First of all, anyone using Ocean.io to search for new prospects can see exactly if a company already exists in the connected CRM, and if so, what their deal status and owner are. This data is shown directly in the search results of Ocean.io. Seeing this will save you lots of time going back- and forth to the CRM and prospects list; a simple addition of a filter allows you to clean the ocean of data.

Secondly, when a company or contact is exported from Ocean.io that already exists in the CRM, deduplication is automatically done by us. No data is replaced or duplicated in your CRM, contrary to when one works with the individual upload of CSV files.

Last but definitely not least, Ocean.io also has proprietary AI algorithms that can analyze and segment your CRM data, giving you interesting insights that can help point you towards accounts and contacts with great potential to target next. The analysis can’t take place unless the CRM is connected, as prior deals and win patterns are thoroughly analyzed.

What access permissions do you need from my CRM?

In order to connect Ocean.io to your CRM, we will need both read and write access to your CRM. Read access enables us to retrieve and analyze account and user data for your benefit, and write access enables us to export data to your CRM. That way, you can export data straight into your CRM, deduplicated.

Here is an overview of data that is actually used in the integration below.

Pipedrive: Organizations, Contacts, Deals, Activities, Users, Webhooks

HubSpot: Companies, Contacts, Deals, Engagements, Users

Salesforce: Opportunities, Leads, Accounts, Contacts, Users

Will you use my CRM data to improve the data on your platform?

We use your CRM account data to enhance the performance of our algorithm we make available to you. We do not use your data for any other purpose than enhancing the algorithm. We do not include any of your CRM account data in the Ocean.io general database. We do keep a copy of your CRM account data in a segregated database for your use only.

CRM account data means electronic data and information from your CRM system submitted by or for you to the Ocean.io covered services.

Will you share my CRM data with third parties?

Your CRM account data are your proprietary data. We will keep them confidential and will take the same measures to protect your CRM account data as we protect our own data. We will not disclose your CRM account data to any third party.

Will you overwrite existing data?

Ocean.io currently does not overwrite any existing data in your CRM. If existing data is located upon export, it will simply be ignored. For instance, if you want to export a contact to your CRM from Ocean.io that already exists, we won’t change the owner or details of the existing contact.

Where do you store our data?

We use the Google Cloud data center, located in Belgium and other EU locations, to store data. The Google cloud data center is equipped with state-of-the-art protection, both digital and physical, to ensure your data is safe. You can read more about how the Google Cloud data center secures your data on this website.

How long do you keep our data?

When your account expires, for instance when your contract ends and you do not wish to renew, we automatically disconnect the CRM after 30 days. Whenever the CRM gets disconnected, either manually by you or automatically by us, your CRM data will be deleted the next day from Ocean.io.

How do you ensure my data is secure?

Every application/API access is protected with a short-lived token that we can revoke at any time. The data is segmented in our databases per customer. Each token can only access the corresponding data of the customer.
