To get access to our APIs or our MCP, you need an API token. This API token is a unique key for your company, connected to your account and the number of credits you have on Ocean.
You can find your API token by heading to API tokens on your settings page, or by clicking on the API tokens page in the menu bar. Note that this page is only available for Admin users.
If you don't enable API access yet, you will see the page below. Click on "Get access" to get started:
If you don't have an API token yet, click on New token to generate your first API token.
In the next step, pick a name for your API token. This name is only visible in your API token overview to help you distinguish between your generate API tokens.
When you click on "Create token", you will see the API token. Ensure you copy and save it somewhere secure, as you will not be able to see this token again in the platform for your own security.
Once an API token is generated, click on the Copy button to copy it to your clipboard.
Do you suspect that your custom-built application is compromised? Better safe than sorry - delete your API token and easily create a new one:
💡Tip: If you have multiple API tokens, they are still tied to the same credit limit.
