There are 3 types of credits on Ocean:

Lookalike Export Credits
Lookalike export credits are taken whenever you successfully export one or more objects to a destination of your choice.
♻️ Usage: Depending on your plan, it might be possible to export an object for a second time for free. The classic setup with the team on Ocean using the data for only one and the same company on Ocean can can export objects for free to different destinations. Agencies on the other hand who will use Ocean's data for different customers will have to pay again for each time they export an object (again) to a destination of their choice.
Contact Reveal Credits
Contact reveal credits are taken whenever you successfully uncover a contact's details; LinkedIn handle and email address.
♻️ Usage: When you reveal a contact, it remains revealed to you indefinitely.
Search Credits
This limit only applies to free trials and customers on the "Essential" plan. If you do not see the Search credits on your home page, this limit does not apply to you. If that changes, you will be informed ahead of your contract renewal period.
Search credits are taken whenever you view a list of results.
♻️ Usage: Every time you apply a new filter, you will see a preview of max 3 results. This preview is free and helps you evaluate whether your applied filters are satisfactory. Once you choose to reveal the full page, the credit count begins.
💡Tip: Every time a full page is loaded, a credit is taken for every result visible - even if you have seen it before. Viewing items on your list is free, so we recommend to save every interesting result you encounter. The system does not save which results you have seen.
Different "Pools"
It's important to note that Lookalike export credits and Contact reveal credits are two separate "pools" of credits within your contact management system. While Contact reveal credits allow you to reveal email contact's LinkedIn handle and email address, they do not cover the actual export of the contact's data. So, once you've revealed a contact, you still need to pay for the export of the contact information to utilize it.
