Sequences

Sequences let you send contacts directly from Ocean into your outreach tool to kick off your campaigns, without switching tabs or copy-pasting. 🚀

What Are Sequences? 💡

If you use an outreach tool like Apollo, Lemlist, or Instantly, you can connect it to Ocean and enroll contacts straight into your sequences from your search results or Leads page.

This saves you time and keeps your workflow in one place, find the right people in Ocean, send them to your outreach tool, and start your campaign.

How to Use It

  1. Go to the People tab in your search results or your Leads tab

  2. Select one or more contacts

  3. Click Add to sequence in the Action Bar

  4. A popup will appear with the following:

    • A Sequence dropdown, select which sequence you want to enroll the contact into. The sequences available here come directly from your connected outreach tool

    • A Total cost, showing the credit cost for the enrollment. If the contact is already loaded and the email already revealed, this will show as 0

    • Your current credit balance, shown for reference so you can confirm you have enough credits before proceeding

  5. Once you're happy with your selection and the total cost, click Add to sequence to confirm and start the process

Once the enrollment is complete, you will see a confirmation notification in your Activities tab on the left-hand menu, confirming how many contacts were enrolled and into which tool.

💡 Note: Sequences are only available for contacts, not companies. The Add to sequence option will appear in the People tab in your search results and in your Leads tab.

Email Reveals & Credits 📊

Adding contacts to a sequence follows the same credit logic as a regular export:

  • Loading: If the contact hasn't been loaded yet, it will cost 0.2 credits per contact. If already loaded, no credits are used.

  • Email reveal: If the email hasn't been revealed yet, the cost will be shown in the popup before you confirm. If already revealed, the cost will show as 0.

The total credit cost is always shown upfront in the popup before you confirm, so you are always in control of what gets spent.

Setting Up Your Sequence Integration 🔧

Only admins can set up the integration, once the integration is set up by an admin, all users in the account can add contacts to sequences. Here's how:

  1. Click your profile icon (bottom left)

  2. Go to Integrations

  3. Scroll down to the Sequences section

  4. Connect your outreach tool, it's straightforward, just connect and make sure the required permissions are granted

Currently supported tools: Apollo, Lemlist, Instantly

Disconnecting a Sequence Integration

If you wish to disconnect an outreach tool, go to the same location:

  1. Click your profile icon (bottom left)

  2. Go to Integrations

  3. Scroll down to the Sequences section

  4. Click the Connected button next to the tool you wish to disconnect

  5. Select Disconnect

Pro Tips 💡

  • Reveal emails in bulk before adding to sequences to keep things moving fast

  • Use the Net New filter to make sure you're only enrolling fresh contacts

  • Combine with filters like seniority or location to keep your sequences focused and relevant
