Since September, users still on the old Ocean platform have had the option to move over to our new platform.
On the old platform, you worked with lists. In the new platform, these are replaced with labels. If you’d like to bring your saved lists into the new platform, follow the steps below.
1. Start the Migration
Go to app.ocean.io/migration or click Start under Migrate your lists in your onboarding overview.
2. Review the Instructions
A pop-up will give you an overview of the migration process.
A few important notes:
You can re-run the migration for a short period if you miss a list.
Once the old platform is fully deprecated, migration won’t be possible.
Migration is a one-time transfer. Lists and labels won’t sync across platforms after migration.
3. Choose Your Migration Method
You have two options:
Everything: Migrate all your old lists at once. They’ll keep the same names and turn into labels (see step 4A).
Manually: Select specific lists, companies, or contacts to migrate (see step 4B).
👉 Not interested? You can skip migration and continue with step 5.
⚠️ Only managers can migrate lists for other users. Users without the manager role can only migrate their own.
4A. Migrating Everything
If you select Everything, here’s what happens:
All leads keep their original owner.
Managers migrate everyone’s lists; users without the manager role migrate only their own.
Lead status is set to Legacy.
New labels will match your old list names.
These labels will appear at the top of your Leads page as the most recently added.
4B. Migrating Manually
If you choose Manually, you’ll see a screen where you can:
Pick which lists to bring over.
Decide whether to include companies, contacts, or both.
Choose how they should appear in your new Leads page.
5. Finish Up
That’s it, you’ve started the migration. Wait for a confirmation notification (this can take a little time).
Missed an important list? Just head back to app.ocean.io/migration. Running the migration again won’t overwrite your previous transfers—it simply adds to them.
